Sales Goal:
Based off of other leading gym's information (Gold's Gym), the first year, we should make around $400,000 and grow by 20% every year. Our price will be $100 initial fee, plus $25 every month. We expect to have around 1000 members the first year, as Gold's gym has an average of 5,000 members per gym.
Service:
We provide the service of health equipment to work out. We also will provide personal training as an additional fee.
We will offer the classes shown above! At first we will not have a pool until we grow larger, so the Aqua Fit class will be available in 3 years.
Direct and Indirect Competition:
The direct competition for The Gym would be the nationally recognized gym's including LA Fitness, Gold's Gym, and Planet Fitness. We will have competition with the small, local gyms as well like FitnessFanatics, USC RecCenter, Bull's Gym. Our indirect competition would be with other health related companies like Weight Watchers and GNC. This could be due to the fact that some people would prefer to diet rather than workout to lose weight.
Pricing Objectives/methods:
Our method is to undercut our competition. Right now, due to our location, LA Fitness is our biggest competition. LA Fitness charges a $100 initial fee, plus $30 a month. We will charge the same $100 initial fee, but only $25 a month. Thus, our younger age demographic would be more willing to work out at The Gym compared to places like LA Fitness that are more expensive. We will offer special offer that will run January 1st through January 10th every year. This offer will include a $50 initial fee instead of a $100 initial fee. We should be able to gain many new members with that special promotion due to the fact that many people make New Year's Resolutions to work out and lose more weight. We will also offer free three-day trials any day of the year for potential customers.
Location:
Our gym will be located at 205 Millers Run Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. This is a very convenient location, as it is right off the Bridgeville exit of Interstate 79 and Route 50. It is easy access for our members to get to. The location is 8.6 acres, so we will be able to have a large facility to maintain all of our machinery. The only disadvantage is that we will have an expensive utilities bill due to our large facility. We will have a sales office in the gym that will conduct new memberships that will create a welcoming environment for potential members. To really be welcoming, we will offer free three-day trials and offer tours of the facility.
Promotion activites:
We will hand out a 15% discount for the first three months of a membership for customers who fill out a survey based on their experience. We will offer free three day trials as well, so interested members can try out the gym. We will also have a website that will advertise our services and show pictures of our facility. We will also allow members to purchase extra months on the website and view their account. Positive public relations is very important to us, so we will sponsor community event to get our name out in the public. For example, we will sponsor events like the South Fayette Glow Run, which has over 1,000 attendees and raises money for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC Foundation. Community sponsorship is a cheap way to spread word about our company, as we could be a sponsor for the Glow Run for as little as $100.
Packaging
The only packaging we will need is our member's keychain tags that will be used to scan them into the gym.
Customer Service polcies
We want the best for our members at The Gym, so we will have the top customer service polices. We will always have a help desk and a phone number to that help desk. We will send out surveys asking our members if there is anything that they would like to see improved at The Gym. We will also have a privacy agreement for our members, so their information is not spread.

Sales training, management and methods
We will hire employees who have a background in sales. We will only hire the top people. All of our employees must be trained in CPR and emergency situations, in case of an emergency. Our managers must have at least 5 years of experience in the business field or show extreme promise in improving The Gym.
Growth Strategies
We plan to grow by first expanding at our home location. We are planning on adding a basketball court, swimming pool, racquetball court, sauna, etc., then we are planning on franchising, The Gym, to become first a regional franchise and then a nationally recognized gym. Our goal is that in 7 years we have at least 3 local gyms.
